Who Said So?

Have you ever counted how many people defined you?

Probably not.

Because they rarely announced they were doing it.

A parent’s comment.
A teacher’s expectation.
A friend’s opinion.
A compliment.
A criticism.

Over time, those moments quietly shaped the woman you believe yourself to be.

Some definitions still fit beautifully.

Others never did.

Still others have simply outlived their usefulness.

There comes a season in life when we’re wise enough to author our true definition.

Not someone else’s.

Our own.

Perhaps that’s one of the greatest privileges of growing older.

Not having all the answers…

but recognizing what truly belongs to us.
